With the championship season now upon us, the JRN pollsters considered the final week of the regular season as the conference championships loom into view. With less racing than usual, the rankings remain fairly consistent but there are still a few changes in the JRN Media Poll, sponsored by WinTech and King Racing.

On the men’s side there is similarly limited movement, but both of the big winners actually raced this week. Northeastern move up into the top ten following their mid-week racing against a highly regarded Harvard lineup before being beaten more heavily by Dartmouth on Sunday, with the big green jumping up to fifth based on the favourably comparison.
The only other movement comes at the bottom, as Oregon State re-enter the poll at the expense of Holy Cross following their race on neutral water in Cherry Hill, a course both will likely reunite on at the National Championships in less than four weeks’ time.

Out of women’s sprints, Rutgers was the biggest beneficiary as they climbed over Princeton to take sixth position, buoyed by wins in the first varsity eight and four. This moves the scarlet knights into a hypothetical grand final and would represent their best ever finish in a national championship.
Further down, Michigan and Syracuse reshuffle as their previous results are re-contextualised while Penn drop down to fourteenth following their defeat to Princeton.
