2025 Stotesbury Cup Regatta – Girls’ Senior Quad Preview

The 97th Stotesbury Cup Regatta is the “largest scholastic regatta in the world”  held annually on or near the legendary Schuylkill River, Philadelphia, in the shadow of the legendary Boathouse Row. Attending the regatta this year are 178 schools, 4,774 athletes, and 919 boats. The 2025 Stotesbury Cup will again bring the very best scholastic girls’ quads together to compete for the championships. Entries nationally attend this prestigious regatta, plus notable nationally known schools like The Hockaday School, Dallas, TX, making the trip from Texas to test their boat speed on the Schuylkill River. Head Coach Maria Esway knows her quad will be tested.

 The Agnes Irwin School

Placing second in last year’s Stotesbury finals and having just won the Pennsylvania Scholastic Regatta by ten seconds, The Agnes Irwin School will be the quad with the proven boat speed and race pedigree. They are clearly a favourite for the podium this year.

Conestoga Crew Club, Germantown Friends School Rowing, and Niskayuna Rowing should all be top finalists given their pedigree as 2024 finalists and 2025 performances. Conestoga Crew Club finished third in the Pennsylvania Scholastic Championships, showing championship boat speed just a few weeks ago.

Prediction

I expect the Agnes Irwin School to be first to the finish, followed by Conestoga Crew Club, Germantown Friends School Rowing, and Niskayuna Rowing on the Stotesbury awards podium.
