2026 US Women’s Youth Crews to Watch

Row America Rye – Youth Eight

The undisputed form crew of the fall, Row America Rye, will be gunning for their third USRowing Youth National Championship in a row. A commanding 16-second win over their transatlantic rivals, Headington, at the Head of the Charles was sweet after falling short to them in the 2024 Prince Philip Challenge Trophy final. A 12-second win at the Head of the Schuylkill only bolstered their confidence heading into the winter. Expect this crew to be among the very best this season.

Greenwich Crew – Youth Eight / Youth Four

Based in Cos Cob, Connecticut, Greenwich boasts impressive results from fall racing, displaying the form that earned them a Henley Royal Regatta title in 2022. With a first and third-place finish at the Head of the Charles in the youth four and youth eight, respectively, Greenwich have displayed their technical prowess and the depth of their squad. With a proven pedigree in the sweep events, watch for Greenwich to make a splash this spring.

Los Gatos Rowing Club – Youth Quad

Fresh off a USRowing Youth National Championship title in June, Los Gatos are showing no signs of slowing down. Second place at the Head of the Charles to Marlow may have stung, but the relatively close margin over the three-mile course shows they can contend with some of the best junior scullers from across the pond. With the nearest domestic competition clocking in some ten seconds slower, Los Gatos will be looking to extend their lead this winter and retain their place atop the podium come the 2026 USRowing Youth National Championships.

Cambridge Boat Club – Youth Single

Cambridge’s Emma Kirk laid down an impressive performance this past fall at the Head of the Charles, winning by an eye-watering 18 seconds. While her familiarity with the course will have helped, there is no denying her raw speed. She finished ahead of the 2025 USRowing Youth National Championship gold and bronze medalists, a result that will have pleased her camp. Keep an eye out for Emma Kirk at the forefront of junior women’s sculling this spring.
